the n bomb

as previously posted, nas has decided (aka forced by corporate) to change his forthcoming album title from "nigger" to "untitled." there are obvious reasons as to why the album title would be changed..however..there are also a lot of disappointed fans (like myself) who were looking forward to such a bold statement in the state of hip-hop today.

but faith has been restored. if a picture is worth a thousand words.. nas' new album cover speaks plenty

whens the last time an album cover gave you the chills? powerful to say the least

nas changes album title

"It's important to me that this album gets to the fans," Nas said in a statement released Monday afternoon (May 19). "It's been a long time coming. I want my fans to know that creatively and lyrically, they can expect the same content and the same messages. It's that important. The streets have been waiting for this for a long time. The people will always know what the real title of this album is and what to call it."

God Loves Ugly

Ever since first hearing that record when I was 18, I've been a huge Atmosphere fan. Yesterday was a dream come true getting to shoot and kick it with slug himself. Definitely a cool down to earth dude. Seems like all the Minnesota peeps i've met are a lot like us Seattlites. Few of my shots from the day:

dunk you very much

tonights game vs the celtics

"with no regard for human life" : watch it here

"He can dunk. Especially if you give him a running start at the basket. It's probably going to be a pretty good dunk and he's so darn powerful that once he gets up there, there's not a lot you can do. I hate the fact that he got to the basket."

raf simons

these are one of my current "must have" items. its raf simons' flavor dumped onto an eastpak set. raf simons has collaborated with the backpack company earlier this year for a spring/summer collection, but this wool influenced series will be out for the fall/winter collection...just in time to warm your back up

it IS from raf simons collection, and not eastpak's...so instead of planning on that $50-60 expense...go ahead and throw another 0 on there. $600...per bag. yikes

B+ is good in my book?

Speaking of the Seattle Kanye show.. Just stumbled across this on Kanye's Blog. Seems like quite an angry backlash for a B+ review. Either way though, I heard nothing but good reviews. Just figured id throw this out there haha

Entertainment Weekly review here:
Kanye Show Review

From Kanye's Blog"

Yo, anybody that's not a fan; don't come to my show. For what?! To try and throw ya'll two cents in? Ya'll rated my album shitty and now ya'll come to the show and give it a B+. What's a B+ mean? I'm an extremist. It's either pass or fail! A+ or F-! You know what, fuck you and the whole fucking staff!!! I know I shouldn't dignify this with a comment, but the reviewer threw a jab at all the artists. I just wanna know when was the last time you enjoyed yourself. If you can't have fun and lose yourself at this tour it's a good chance you're a very miserable person. I actually feel sorry for you guys. Your job forces you to not have fun anymore. Grab a drink, holla at some nice girls, and party bitch!! You don't know shit about passion and art. You'll never gain credibility at this rate. You're fucking trash! I make art. You can't rate this. I'm a real person. I'm not a pop star. I don't care about anything but making great art. Never come 2 one of my shows ever again, you're not invited and if you see me...BOW!! This is not pop, it's pop art! Chris Willman, kill yourself!

Devotchka @ The Showbox

I had been ALMOST as excited to see/shoot this show for the past month as the crew was for the Kanye show. These guys did not disappoint. Devotchka were truly Amazing musicians and put on quite a spectacle for the eyes and ears. Definitely check them out if you have not heard them before. One of the most unique bands thats come out in awhile in my opinion.

First Sighting....

The 24 Hour of LeMons (Team JONUTS?)

Yes LEMONS..

I stumbled across this website and I think we definitely need to prepare a Jonuts team for next year. Were too late this year as the event happens in a few weeks. Each team fixes up a car and that costs no more than 500 or less and competes in a two day spectacle (nearing 24 hours) of racing and fun.

" Sponsored by Grassroots Motorsports
Nasty. Brutish. Not Short Enough.

The crowd. The spectacle. The pall of blue smoke and roasted clutch discs. In all motorsport, no event captures the universal human need to whale on old crapcans and hoover down greasy barbecue like the 24 Hours of LeMons."
